Service Description

13th, 20th and 27th October. Lets have some fun with colour, if you'd like to understand how to use colour to bring your work to vibrant life this workshop is a great place to start. There is nothing more fun than playing with colour when you understand how to manipulate it to express the joy you feel about your subject. I'll have a selection of simple but well-lit reference images to choose from, we can do a popular vote to decide on which one/s we paint, or you can bring your own inspiration. (Please no landscapes, that is a separate workshop). Subjects covered in the workshop include: -understanding the importance of value/tone, -tips on tweaking images to bring the colours out -complimentary colours and how to enhance the vibrance of a painting, - making things look 3D, -when and where to use hard and soft edges, -understanding warm and cool colours and where to use them. The classes are recorded and available to download within 24 hours of the session.
