The teamsters artist, painting the light and sharing the joy. Sharing their love for their animals and preservation of the past. There is a profound grounding that occurs when you unplug from the world and simply work in harmony with a team of animals towards a common goal. There are no attendance awards, the rewards come from persistence and being present with the animals at all times. An awareness of body language, personalities within the team, and a generally calm disposition seem to be key in a successful team. This is not something that can be bought, or learned at a university. It takes time and commitment with very minimal financial reward. I have found this to be incredibly inspiring. The teamsters, in their diverse ways of maintaining their teams and their equipment, their commitment to their welfare, achieve personal satisfaction not in money (although they’d all like a little more) but on those days when everything runs smoothly. They don’t have false grandeur because the animals soon humble everyone.
