Landscape Painting Basics: 3-Session Online Series

Master the fundamentals of landscape painting in this comprehensive three-week series. Throughout the sessions, we will focus on composition, lighting, and color theory to help you bring natural scenery to life on canvas. Wouldn't it be awesome to just pick up your paint box and head off into the sunset to go paint. Sharing the joy that you experience by seeing an inspiring landscape and figuring out how to interpret it can be quite challenging. In this workshop series I'll be covering the basics of: -analysing the subjects and creating a strong composition by eliminating superfluous detail. -creating depth and a feeling of atmosphere. - understanding warm and cool colours and how to manipulate them throughout the painting. -emphasising the focal area. -the fun of mark making. Each week we will choose a new subject and workout how these landscape principles are applied under different conditions. I'll provide you with the reference images each week, and the challenge will be to see how you interpret them. You are also invited to use your own material if that is what you'd prefer. There will be a recording available to download or just watch for upto 1 month after the class.
