Workshop in Oils — 22-23rd February, 2020

9 Places still available

This is one of Kathy’s most popular workshops. Each day begins with a talk and demonstration by Kathy on how she interprets colour to achieve her luminous, light-filled paintings. You will respond by creating your own painting, based on an image of your own choosing. (Kathy often use chooks for demonstration purposes, as they are reasonably easy to draw.)

Materials included in the cost are: oil paints and palette are supplied, along with the use of an easel, ‘turps jar’ for washing brushes, gamsol studio solvent, vinyl gloves, paper towel and a plastic bag for rubbish. Brushes are not supplied, but will be available for purchase, along with other paints and extra canvases. A budget of $25 for a canvas; you can pick and choose what size you would like for your masterpiece.

Cost: $240 for 2 days. Time: 9.30am-4pm daily. Workshop numbers are limited to 12, but a minimum of 7 people will be required for the workshop to go ahead. Confirmation will be given 2 weeks out from the workshop. Cancellations can be made up to 2 weeks prior. We ask for a 50% deposit on booking.

‘Bring along some images you would like to paint, remembering that keeping it simple (a subject with a simple shape, like chooks), makes creating a successful painting much easier, particularly with your first painting. Choose images with a great light source with contrasting shadows.’
