Service Description
Dates: 10-11th May, 9.30am - 4pm The one and only landscape workshop this year. Wouldn't it be awesome to just pick up your paint box and head off into the sunset to go paint. Sharing the joy that you experience by seeing an inspiring landscape and figuring out how to interpret it can be quite challenging. In this workshop I'll be covering the basics of: -analysing the subjects and creating a strong composition by eliminating detail -creating depth and a feeling of atmosphere - understanding warm and cool colours and how to manipulate them throughout the painting. -emphasising the focal area. -the fun of mark making I'll provide you with the reference image, and the challenge will be to see how you interpret it. You are also invited to use your own material if that is what you'd prefer. Above all I aim to make my workshops a happy, relaxed and supportive environment enabling you to develop your own creative voice. Laughing is highly valued! This will be an energetic immersion into understanding how to bring your images to life and add vibrance and joy to your work. Materials provided: Oil (maimeri puro). Palette. Easel. Rags. Canvas. Turps and jar. You need to bring: Brushes, I do have some older brushes available to use, and some will be available for purchase. Note book. Laptop or ipad, you could print the reference image out but I find that it is inferior to working from a screen. Lunch. (Beechworth has numerous eateries to explore.) If you have any queries at all please feel free to contact me by phone 0427 962 127 or email kathyellem1@gmail.com
