Palette Knife Flowers

Workshop in Oil, 2-3rd May, 2020

Fully booked, waiting list only.

This is a high energy workshop, with lots of messy fun. Kathy will give a step-by-step demonstration of how she creates her vibrant flower paintings, creating a lightly textured background on which she ‘places’ the flowers, loading the palette knife with multiple colours. This workshop will be challenging as palette knife painting requires brief, well-placed strokes, but you will be encouraged to have plenty of fun with the paint.

Materials included in the cost are: oil paints, 20” by 30” canvas (additional canvases will be available for purchase, as some participants may enjoy attempting more than one painting), use of an easel, palette knife, palette and rags.

Be aware that your painting will be wet so you’ll need somewhere safe to put it to get it home — ideally, line the boot of your car with an old sheet or plastic.

Cost: $260 for 2 days. Time: 9.30am-4pm. Workshop numbers are limited to 12, but a minimum of 7 people will be required for the workshop to go ahead. Confirmation will be given 2 weeks out from the workshop. Cancellations can be made up to 2 weeks prior. We ask for a 50% deposit on booking.

Upon enrolment, Kathy will email you a materials list and further details about the workshop.

This workshop will be held at Kathy Ellem Fine Art, 45 Ford Street, Beechworth.
